The Future of Marketing Isn’t Humans vs. AI — It’s Humans With AI

AI has moved marketing further along more quickly than any of us anticipated. Now you can write up a social post, come up with an advertising concept, analyze data, or even write out an article in under a minute.

It’s not hard to see where this leads to one of the key questions of our era: Does AI mean the end of marketing professionals?

But I don’t think that’s the right question.

We’re not looking at competition between people and AI here. We’re talking about people using AI to market themselves.

AI Is a Tool, Not a Strategy

There’s no denying that AI does some tasks extremely fast. This includes research, brainstorming, creative content generation, data processing, and routine work.

But take the same AI tool in the hands of ten different marketers and still get ten totally different outcomes.

Why?

Because the strategy itself comes from the person working the tool.

After all, AI doesn’t really understand what the frustrations of your customers are, what story your brand tells and what makes your business stand out.

Why Creativity Can’t Do Without Humans

The appearance of more AI-generated content on the internet is a reality. And not all of that content looks promising or even valuable.

Flawless grammar isn’t always equal to quality content.

Humans get engaged by a person’s point of view, experience, opinions and stories. This factor should not be overlooked in the process of incorporating AI into business.

The ideal solution would be to let AI do the routine work, and humans to concentrate on creative and strategic tasks.

The Marketer of the Future

It might seem that the future of marketing is going to belong to those who have mastered the skills of using AI technologies best.

But in fact, the best marketers of the future are those who know how and when to apply them.

AI can provide you with more options for your content creation and can save hours of work. But still, it requires human judgement whether an idea is worth trying or not.

Therefore, no, I wouldn’t agree with those who say that the future of marketing is a competition between humans and AI.

On the contrary, it is a combination of the two.
